The Chirho Page from The Book of Kells, a ninth century illuminated manuscript containing the four Gospels, created by Celtic monks and residing for centuries at the Abbey of Kells in County Meath, Ireland.
Be sure to view full size version of the image, as it is very intricate and beautiful.  This is the most famous page from the Book, and is named because of the chirho symbol it features, a combination of the Greek letters chi (Χ) and rho (Ρ).  The chirho was the earliest Christian symbol, earlier even than the cross itself.
